River Valley HRC

Training

River Valley HRC holds regularly scheduled training sessions from March to August. Members also get together and train in informally scheduled training sessions almost every week during the season.

We charge a nominal per dog fee for our organized training days: $5 for your first dog and $3 for each additional dog. This fee goes toward grounds, equipment, food, refreshments and bird costs.

Training Schedule - 2011 & 2012

March - June 2nd Saturday of the Month starting at 7AM at the Main Mazomanie Training Grounds (1 on our training grounds map).

July & August 2nd Saturday of the Month starting at 7AM call contacts (right sidebar) for location.

March - June 1st & 3rd Thursday of the Month starting at 5:30PM at the Main Mazomanie Training Grounds (1 on our training grounds map).

July & August 1st & 3rd Thursday of the Month starting at 5:30PM call contacts (right sidebar) for location.

Flyers

If you want flyers (live ducks) for a training day call Brian or Aaron (see sidebar) at least 24 hours in advance.

Dog Training Permit

A $25 dog training permit is required by the State Wisconsin if you are going to use game birds in training your dog. See the Links on the right sidebar for specific regulations and permit application. The Wisconsin Dog Training Permit application requires you to specify where you will be training with game birds. We created an attachment with all the information for the Class 1 Dog Trial and Training grounds in Wisconsin; you can print this out and attach it to your permit submission.
